Together, they’ve embarked on a noble mission, one that combines the joy of fishing with the sheer pleasure of seeing special needs individuals flourish.
For many, the phrase “Fish for Life” might sound like a catchy tagline for an angler’s club. But in Southern California, it represents much more. Here, it stands for a unique non-profit organization with an ambitious goal: to provide special needs individuals with unforgettable fishing trips at sea.
Established by Jim Holden in 2009, Fish for Life is the heartwarming result of a simple fishing trip. It all started when Holden took his good friend Jeffrey Kutcher, a special needs individual, on a fishing excursion. Moved by the sheer joy it brought to Kutcher, Holden knew he had found his life’s calling.
Fast forward to Summer 2023, and the admirable Fish for Life mission has found a dedicated partner in MudHen Brewing Co.
On July 22nd, MudHen Brewing Co. took a remarkable step. Not only did they sponsor refreshments for a Fish for Life trip, but they also offered food, drinks, and their signature MudHen beer post-trip. And trust me, it was a hit!
It’s partnerships like these that remind us of the powerful impact we can make when we come together. Through its involvement, MudHen Brewing Co. has brought smiles, laughter, and beautiful memories to those who often face challenges in their daily lives.
Fish for Life has made an extraordinary impact since its maiden voyage in 2010. To date, the organization has served over 1,500 special needs children, offering them a memorable day out at sea and the thrill of catching their first fish!
