9.11 Stair Climb

On September 18, 2022, members of our community participated in the Wildwood Fire Department 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. Participants climbed 110 stories total (11 rounds of 10 stories) to honor the fallen who made the ultimate sacrifice on 9/11/01.

The event started out with a few words from John Lynch, founder of Lunch with Lynch and many other local charitable organizations. Followed by a speech from retired NYPD Lieutenant and first responder, Tom Messer. John Lynch passed along a piece of rock from ground zero to participants to give them strength during the climb.

MudHen Brewing Co. donated a free beer token to all climbers over 21 as well as a portion of each check – that presented a flyer – was given back to Tunnel 2 Towers.

Among other programs Tunnel 2 Towers is an organization that has aided America’s heroes by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and by building custom-designed smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders.

Tunnel 2 Towers was this year’s charity for the second year in a row. All proceeds from registration were donated directly to the Tunnel 2 Towers.
