Sand, Sun, and Home Runs

For the second year, MudHen Events presented the Wildwood Beach Baseball Tournament from August 12th-14th and August 19th-21st. Youth baseball players ages 9-13 laced up their sneakers, the foul lines were painted in the sand, and parents set up their beach chairs and umbrellas to cheer on their athletes.

Our team spent a week building 5 baseball fields right on Rio Grande Avenue, behind the iconic Wildwood sign. Local businesses Ribeye Steaks, Wild Burrito, and MudHen Brewing Co. set up shop on the sand, so fans didn’t even have to leave the beach for grub!

Local Community Service organization owners John Lynch of Lunch with Lynch and Maddie McCracken of Step Back Foundation threw out the first pitch on each weekend.

The weekends started out with a Home Run Derby leading off Friday Night hosted by Marc DeBlasio of DeBlasio and Associates. Players knocked dingers as spectators lined the boardwalks trying to catch the ball.

All the fun did not only take place on the beach! Participants received goodie bags with Sightseer Tram Car wristbands, MudHen Stickers & Coupons, and a weekend Ride & Slide Morey’s Piers Wristband. Giving each family a well-rounded Wildwood experience.

Congrats to all our Champions from both weekends
