Doing Good by Mother Earth

As one of the many businesses that benefit from the beauty of the island, we decided to show some gratitude this Earth Day. Here at MudHen Brewing Co. we partnered with our friends at Tequila Patron and The New Jersey Audubon Nature Center of Cape May to educate and celebrate our shore.

The Nature Center provided live animals and elements of wildlife found locally. They educated our guests on ways to preserve our beaches and the importance of maintaining our wildlife. Kids were able to make craft using found objects from our beaches.

Patron and Barnyard Friends Plant Bar provided upcycled tequila vessels, mason jars, and wooden plant boxes for our guests to create succulent terrariums. Patron also donated $1 for every Patron beverage sold at MudHen Friday, April 22nd and Saturday, April 23rd to The New Jersey Audubon Nature Center of Cape May. We matched their donation providing a total of $482 to benefit our local wildlife and conservation.

Our sister restaurant, Dogtooth Bar & Grill, also celebrated our island by taking to the beach for our first Beach Cleanup. We worked with the North Wildwood Beach Beautification Brigade’s Wildwood Crest Coordinator, and MudHen server, Tracy Roney and members of the community to comb the beach of unwanted garbage. Each participant was given a $10 dogtooth gift card once they returned their trash bags. For more information on keeping the Mile Beach clean, email nwwbeachbrigade@gmail.com or come out the second Saturday of every month at 9:00 a.m. to clean!
