Coalition for a Safe Community Donation

It’s 2020, right? How did we get here? To say everyone has been negatively affected in some way by this year is a true understatement. From differing political views between friends and family members to the seemingly never ending pandemic lockdown, this year has been one heck of a rough ride with not a lot of lubricant in the near future. The internet is, of course, overloaded with memes – one I saw last week that I believe speaks for all of us said, “I’m gonna ask my momma if the offer to slap me into next year is still on the table.” As a community, we will find new pathways to navigate through this unknown territory, now is a time to come together more than ever.

So many of our favorite things have been cancelled this year. Name any activity outside of your house that involves more than a half-dozen people and cross that off the list. Not only does this list include activities that you love but also, activities that are necessary. Our entire educational system was redesigned, reconfigured and implemented in an incredibly short amount of time. Making the transition to online learning is only one item that has been affected by this virus. On top of this, you also have families who are struggling with loss of income, who are finding it difficult to pay the internet bills or who are working from home and now need another computer to provide for their children so they can attend online schooling.

Our childrens’ education is a priority. The Coalition for a Safe Community (CSC) was created to unite community members and organizations who are dedicated to improving and empowering residents to sustain safe communities. The CSC stepped it up a notch and put out the call in Cape May County to provide internet access and computers to affected families in the Cape May County area. MudHen Brewing Company were happy to respond with a generous donation.
